Fire sets warehouse ablaze

Posted on by SST

Fast-acting firefighters may have prevented the destruction of an industrial warehouse in Harris County, which is located in Houston, Texas.

The blaze broke out after a large piece of machinery caught on fire. The piece in question is used to make "Magnesium Balls" for the oil industry. The workers noticed the fire in time and were able to escape unharmed.

Twelve employees were evacuated from the building and none reported sustaining any injuries.

The Aldine Fire Department responded to a call around 10:45 p.m. on July 24 that smoke was visibly coming from the warehouse. They quickly arrived on the scene and assessed the situation. Upon entering the building, they spotted the machine heavily on fire and were able to use fire suppression tactics to subdue the flames and prevent the damage from impacting the rest of the building.

Reports did not indicate if the workers attempted to extinguish the fire themselves, but the quick response time by the Aldine Fire Department ensured that the warehouse would not be subject to extensive repairs.
