A combustible gas is any gas that will burn. Mixtures of combustible gases with air, when ignited, produce an explosion. Use a combustible gas detector to insure that the percentage of gas in the air can never get high enough for the mixture to burn. When gas is sensed, try to replace the gas/air mixture with fresh air. If this cannot be accomplished, then shut down all equipment and evacuate all personnel from the area. Use these combustible gas detectors to check for methane (natural gas), propane, butane, ethane, pentane, LNG, LPG, hydrogen and other combustible gases.
