A Salem, Ore., cabinet factory was destroyed after a fire tore through the facility, according to Portland CBS affiliate KOIN. The flames set off the building's fire alarm system around 10:30 p.m. July 10.
The source said the metal roof of Elite Cabinets Plus collapsed under the blaze and made it difficult for firefighters to put out the fire. The building was also full of wood, paint and shellac, which added to the difficulty for responders.
Portland NBC affiliate KGW-TV said one firefighter was injured while battling the blaze and was sent to a nearby hospital with injuries to his hand. His injures were non-life threatening and he was treated and released.
The manufacturing facility was gutted by the fire and additional help was called to the scene due to the size of the fire. The article stated fire investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire that was also reported by a number of 911 calls.
