ALARM CONTROL PANELS

The Alarm Control Panel receives electrical
signals from the various fire detectors and gas sensors located through out the
protected area. The control panel displays the status of each connected
detector or sensor, reporting alarm conditions and measured gas concentrations.
Alarms result in activation of alarm signals to alert personnel at both the
panel and the protected locations, and in many cases initiate release of fire
extinguishants in the protected areas. The control panel also reports any
detector/sensor device that is not working properly, so that maintenance
personnel may be dispatched to repair the device. Alarm panels usually include
an emergency source of power to enable the Fire & Gas System to remain
operational during failures of the buildings normal electric light and power
service.

CONTROL SYSTEM INPUT MODULES

5010
Dual Channel Smoke/Fire Detection Input Modules

are used to connect smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual fire stations, and
any other contact-closing initiating devices to the control system.

5020
Combustible Gas Detection Modules
are used to connect
combustible gas sensors to the control system. If using a sensor that does not
have a 4-20 mA output signal, use a Model
5400 Dual Channel Transmitter
with a Model GC800 Catalytic Gas Sensor to interface with this
module.

5021
Series Toxic Gas Detection Modules
are used to connect
toxic gas toxic sensors to the control. The module can be used with any sensor
that provides a standard 4-20 mA output signal.

5028
Intelligent Combustible and Toxic Gas Detection Modules
feature easier periodic recalibration with electronic setting of
the calibration controls. Versions are available for use with Catalytic
sensors, or any other combustible or toxic sensor having a 4-20 ma output.

5026
Oxygen Gas Detection Modules
are used to
connect Oxygen Deficiency and Enrichment sensors to the control system. The
module works with any sensor that has a 4-20 mA output signal.

5029
4-20 mA Analog Input Modules
are used to
monitor any process variable that can be converted to the industry standard
4-20 mA output signal. Typically used to display pressure, temperature or weight
variables.

CONTROL SYSTEM LOGIC MODULES

5100
Multi-Input Voting Logic Modules
are used to
monitor the status of a group of different input points in a hazard zone, and
report when a selectable number of these points is in an alarm condition. This
function is used primarily to require that more than one sensor or detector is
in alarm condition prior to release of extinguishing agent into the hazard.

5110
Relay Logic Modules
are used when voltage free dry
relay contacts are required to perform an unusual logic function within the
NOVA-5000 Control System. This module can also be used to report fire and gas
system status to external equipment such as PLC’s, SCADA, computers or data
logging systems.

5120
System Facilities Logic Module
is used to
provide control capabilities common to all modules in a NOVA-5000 System.
Pushbuttons on the module enable an alarm on any module to be acknowledged by
an operator, alarm devices to be silenced, and all alarms reset. The control
system can function without this module, if these capabilities are not
required.

CONTROL SYSTEM OUTPUT MODULES

5230
Extinguishant Release Control Modules
are used
to activate solenoid valves for the release of extinguishing or inerting agent
into a protected hazard area. The module is useable with all agents, including
Carbon Dioxide, FM-200, FE-13, Novec 1230, Argonite, foam, and water deluge
systems.

5241
Four Channel Supervised Alarm Output Module
is
used to provide 24 VDC operating voltage to external alarm devices, such as
bells, horns, rotating beacons, strobe lights, etc. It may also be used to
control other devices, such as shutdown relays, door closers, damper motors, or
for elevator recall circuits.

5110
Relay Logic Modules
can be used as output
modules to provide voltage free dry relay contacts to report fire and gas
system status to external equipment such as PLC’s, SCADA, computers or data
logging systems.

CONTROL SYSTEM MODULE RACKS, & ENCLOSURES

5300
Module Mounting Racks
provide mounting space
for the selected NOVA-5000 Input, Logic and Output Modules. Racks are available
with mounting spaces for 4 to 16 modules. These racks must be installed in
suitable enclosures for use.

5302
Explosion Proof Module Mounting Racks
provide
mounting space for the selected NOVA-5000 Input, Logic and Output Modules when
installed in hazardous locations. Racks are available with mounting spaces for
8 or 16 modules.

5600
Free Standing System Enclosures
are available
in sizes to accommodate multiple 16 space Module Mounting Racks. They can be
located directly on the floor with rear access to the mounting racks, or in
small sizes placed on a table or console.

5601
Wall Mounted System Enclosure
is convenient way
to mount your NOVA-5000 Detection and Control System Racks in locations where a
free-standing enclosure is not desired. The enclosures swing open to permit
access to the rear of the module racks after installation.

5602
Mini Wall Mounted System Enclosures
are
equipped with a preinstalled module mounting rack to accommodate 4 or 9 modules
for small special purpose control systems.
