Our Chem Coat is an extremely tough 100% solids aromatic super-polymer formulation which stands up to high heat and provides excellent chemical resistance. It exhibits low smoke and low flame spread when exposed to direct flame. This unique super-polymer is designed to be applied as a fast-set spray or a 15 min. roll-on coating. Formulation may be achieved to permit slower cure for advanced composite laminations, RIM molding and casting manufacturing.
Chem Coat Super-Polymer is a slight caramel colored aromatic translucent coating which can be color tinted to produce translucent or opaque colors. This aromatic super-polymer is not UV stable and must be top-coated with an aliphatic UV stable coating such as our Clear Coat, aliphatic Storm Coat, Fire Coat or Acrylic Top Coat. Chem Coat also provides excellent bonding performance, low suface friction, toughness and abrasion resistance.
Primers may not be required if surfaces are properly prepped for secure adhesion. The uniqueness of this super-polymer also affordsits use with internal pipe coating machines and mold making due to its extended material gel time of up to 15 minutes. Reactivity time may be adjusted to accommodate demanding application environments. A thickened version of SmartChemSkin may also be applied to the vertical surfaces by methods of rolling or squeegee.
